Raipur : Vikas Yatra 2018 : No More Darkness, Every Household in Bastar is being illuminated with electricity : Dr Raman Singh

Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today reached Antagarh area of Kanker district under statewide Vikas Yatra. In his address to the general assembly held there, Chief Minister said that Bastar is now being illuminated. Every village, every majra-tola and every household is being electrified. There is no more darkness. He said that road connectivity, electricity and internet connectivity is expanding in Bastar. Bastar now has air connectivity too. Railway connectivity is also being improved. Bhanuparatappur has been connected through railway and by the end of year 2019, Antagarh will be linked. Dr Singh said that- in last 15 years, Chhattisgarh Government has done a lot of work in expanding education facilities with opening of schools, colleges, ITI, Prayas School, and has created growth opportunities for people in other sectors as well.
On the occasion, Chief Minister commemorated Shaheed Gendsingh, Shaheed Gundadhur, Pt Vishnudev Prasad and Mr. Ramprasad Potai, saying that these great men are pride of not only Chhattisgarh but for the country and world as a whole. Chief Minister extended hearty blessings and wishes to the 247 newly-wed couples, who tied nuptial knot under Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana in Antagarh. On the occasion, Chief Minister unveiled development works worth nearly Rs 64 crore. This includes inauguration of 18 development works worth nearly Rs 3 crore and foundation laying-bhumipujan of 107 development works worth Rs 60 crore 44 lakh. In the programme, he distributed 1100 bicycles, 344 tool kits, 32 sewing machines on behalf of Labour Department. He also distributed LPG connection to 100 beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, 7871 'aabaadi patta' on behalf of Revenue Department, 185 forestland right certificates, seed mini kits to 590 farmers, fans to 90 farmers on behalf of Agriculture Department, 319 bicycles on behalf of Forest Department and 30 mini rice mill through Tribal Development Department.
Chief Minister said that after taking blessing from Ma Danteshwari, he started his journey to Dantewada to take blessings of public. He said that this Vikas Yatra is incomplete without the blessings of public. He said that his government has made the arrangement for paddy procurement from farmers and also provide them bonus on the same. State Government has distributed paddy bonus worth nearly Rs 1700 crore. He said that in year 2003, wages for tendupatta collection was Rs 400 per standard sack only, which has been gradually increased to Rs 2500 per standard sack at present. Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh is the first state of the country to implement Food Security Act, under which poor families are being provided rice at Rs 1/kg, free of cost salt and chickpeas at Rs 5/kg. Chief Minister further informed in detail about other public welfare schemes of state government that has brought about significant positive changes in lives of people. Chief Minister said that electrification work is being done in a planned manner to illuminate six lakh 40 thousand households of the state. He said that in upcoming four-five months, we will achieve the goal of 100% electrification. Chief Minister mentioned about Ayushman Bharat Yojana, under which financial aid is provided for medical treatment of even the critical diseases. He also highlighted Bharat Net and Bastar Net Projects, under which internet connectivity of this area is being improved at the cost of nearly Rs 3000 crore. Under Soochna Kranti Yojana, 50 lakh people will be provided 50 lakh smartphones free of cost to make their lives easier.
The general assembly was also addressed by MP Mr. Vikram Ussendi and MLA Mr. Bhojraj Nag. On the occasion, Forest Minister and Kanker district In-charge Minister Mr. Mahesh Gagda, Tribal Caste Welfare Minister Mr. Kedar Kashyap, Jila Panchayat President Mrs. Subhadra Salam, Mr. Manturam Kashyap, Commissioner Mr. Dilip Vasnikar, IG Mr. Vivekananda, Collector Mr. Taman Singh Sonwani, SP Mr. KL Dhruv, and other public representatives, officials-employees and a large number of villagers were present.
