 Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi said that one cannot reach new destinations by following the old- beaten pathways.  He called upon the common citizens, people's representatives and Government officers-employees to work together and develop the most backward 100 districts in the country like Bijapur. The progress of aspirational Bijapur will help in faster growth of aspirational Chhattisgarh. Bijapur district will no more be considered as backward and weak. Mr. Modi said that the Union Government had selected more than 100 districts which had been left behind on the path of progress even after 70 years of Independence.

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi was addressing a huge gathering after launching the nation's first 'Health and Wellness Centre' at village Jangla (district Bijapur) in Bastar Revenue Division on the auspicious occasion of birth anniversary of Dr. Babasheb Ambedkar.   Mr. Modi revealed that in the first phase of Ayushmaan Bharat Yojana, primary health centres and sub-health centres in  one lakh 50 thousand big villages will be upgraded as Health and Wellness Centres. The main focus is to prevent diseases rather than treating them. Services will be provided at these centres in this regard.  Efforts will be made to provide medical services free of cost.

Mr. Modi said that in the next phase the Union Government aims at providing health insurance up to Rs Five lakh to 50 crores seriously ill patients.

                                                        Wellness Centres to work as family doctors

Mr. Modi said that Ayushman Bharat Yojana's Health and Wellness Centres will function as family doctors. He appealed to the gathering to give 'nomenclature' to Health and Wellness Centres in simple and plain language. He revealed that the Central Government had provided Dialysis equipment to about 500 hospitals to provide  an accessible treatment to kidney patients. About two lakh 50 thousand patients are availing the facilities and 25 lakh sessions had already been completed. Prime Minister also dedicated the first phase of Bastar Net Yojana. Optical fibre network had been laid up to 400 kilometer to develop internet connectivity in the far-flung regions of backward districts. He also laid the foundation stone of drinking water augmentation facility at Bijapur and Bairamghad. He also laid the foundation stone of high-grade bridges on rivers Indrawati and Mingachal and laying of 1998 kilometer roads under the Prime Minister Rural Roads Project.

Mr. Modi added that villagers will get services of panchayat, ration shops, hospital and school at Jangla Development Centre. He expressed his happiness that 14 more development centres will be launched in Chhattisgarh which will become role-model to rest of the nation.

                                                             Prime Minister appreciates Dr. Raman Singh

Mr. Modi while appreciating the development works of Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh said that he had worked tirelessly to implement the several social-welfare schemes during the past 14 years. The new Government at the Centre had helped in doubling the implementation of several projects. Dr. Raman Singh had crossed many milestones in achieving targets across the nation. He shifted the State Government to the doorsteps of the poor villagers. Mr. Modi referred to the establishment of medical colleges and universities at Bastar and Surguja and opening of schools- colleges in all districts. Prime Minister said that youth from Bastar and Surguja are also becoming doctors and engineers.

Prime Minister said that Chhattisgarh State had made radical changes in medical education and health services. There are 10 medical colleges in the State. Even in Bijapur there are modern medical services. Mr. Modi revealed that he had met Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh doctors working here. The State Government had been making serious efforts to provide electricity to all in the State. Solar energy- based irrigation pumps had been supplied to thousands of farmers. More than 400 kilometres length roads had been laid in Bastar region where passenger buses ply.

                              Ayushmaan Bharat Yojana will make nation healthier: Jagatprakash Nadda      

Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mr. Jagatprakash Nadda said the picture of the health of nation will change for better with the implementation of Ayushmaan Bharat Yojana. He said that Prime Minister had launched the health scheme at Bijapur. His target is Swachh Bharat and Swasth Bharat. The aim is to provide high-quality medicare to poorest of the poor and they should not be deprived of life saving facilities. Mr. Nada said that all the wings of the Union Government will co-ordinate and make success of the new health scheme.

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh while welcoming the Prime Minister on behalf of people of Janghla said that the Ayushmaan Bharat yojana will alter the medicare of the entire nation and it is a privilege that Mr. Modi had launched the scheme in Bijapur on the occasion of birth anniversary of Dr. Babashaeb Ambedkar. Dr. Raman Singh said that the confidence of the depressed sections of the society had increased with the arrival of Mr. Modi on Ambedkar Jayanti. Prime Minister had selected Bijapur as  an aspirational district. About 35 lakh poor families are being allocated with free domestic cooking gas connections under the Prime Minister 'Ujjwala' project. Mr. Modi had decided to provide gas connections to all the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes of the country. Five lakh 40 thousand houses will be provided with electricity connections from Bijapur-Balrampur. Dr. Raman Singh said that the collectors of Tendupatta are allocated Rs Two thousand five hundred wages which is the highest in the country. He expressed his gratitude to Mr. Modi for District Mines' Fund which helps Chhattisgarh to get additional revenue of Rs Four Thousand crore. The States' revenue had been increased to 42 per cent in the Central funds after the constitution of Niti Ayog. Tribal Development Minister Mr. Kedar Kashyap, Higher Education Minister Mr. Premprakash Pande,  Public Works Minister Mr. Rajesh Munat, Forest Minister Mr. Mahesh Gaagda, Health Minister Mr. Ajay Chandrakar, National Scheduled Castes' Commission Chairman Mr. Nandkumar Sahay, MP Mr. Dinesh Kashyap, former Assembly Speaker Mr. Dharampal Kaushik and several senior officers were also present.
