The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of Ireland on the eve ofSt. Patrick’s Day (March 17, 2017).

In a message to His Excellency Mr. Michael D. Higgins, the President of Ireland, the President has said, “On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, I extend warm greetings and felicitations to you and to the friendly people of Ireland on the occasion of St. Patrick’s Day.

India and Ireland enjoy warm and friendly ties that are deeply rooted in history. We have together built a multifaceted partnership based on mutual trust and friendship. I am confident that our co-operation-bilateral and in the multilateral arena will continue to expand and deepen in the years to come.

I take this opportunity to convey my best wishes for Your Excellency’s good health and well-being, and for the progress and prosperity of the people of Ireland.”
