President of India’s Message on the Eve of Independence Day of Kenya 

 
The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of the Republic of Kenya on the eve of their Independence Day (December 12, 2016). 

In a message to His Excellency Mr. Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, the President of the Republic of Kenya, the President has said, “On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me immense pleasure to extend warm greetings and felicitations to Your Excellency, to the Government and the people of the Republic of Kenya on the occasion of the 53rd anniversary of your Independence Day (Jamhuri Day). 

The enduring friendly ties between our two countries have now evolved into a robust and multi-faceted partnership, marked by regular high-level visits, increasing trade and investment as well as extensive people- to-people contacts. 

Our countries share common views on issues of regional and global interest and cooperate closely in regional and multi-lateral fora. I am confident that this comprehensive partnership between India and Kenya will continue to expand and that our cooperation will scale new heights. 

Excellency, I extend my best wishes for your good health, success and happiness, as well as for the continued progress and prosperity of the friendly people of the Republic of Kenya”.
