International Seminar on Approaches and Methodologies for Private Food Grain Stock Measurement to be held on 9th November, 2016 in New Delhi

 
The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in partnership with Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is organizing a 3 day International seminar on Approaches and Methodologies for Private Food Grain Stock Measurement in New Delhi. The seminar is a part of the project ‘Strengthening Agricultural Market Information System. Shri S.K. Pattanayak, Secretary (DAC & FW) will inaugurate the seminar tomorrow. 

The International seminar will bring together national and international experts who will share their practices and experiences in assessment, measurement and estimation of private food grain stocks. Such assessments will enable informed decisions support for modern and progressive agricultural policies and actions. 

The Reliable information on private food stock in India remains extremely scant and methodologies are not available for assessment of food stock. 

Representatives from Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, China, EU countries, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria, Philippines, Thailand, Ukraine, Vietnam, USA and FAO and other international organizations are expected to participate. Relevant organizations of the Government of India, research Institutions, experts and business stakeholders will also attend.
