Specially modified C-130 aircraft of Indian Air Force equipped with Patient Transfer Unit (PTU) got airborne from Hindon airbase today at 0651 hours for Kathmandu, Nepal and evacuated Lieutenant Colonel Vishal Ahlawat from Kathmandu to Palam, New Delhi. Lt Col Ahlawat was thereafter transferred to Army (Research & Referral) Hospital by service ambulance immediately after landing at Palam airport for further treatment. 

Lt Col Ahlawat is a resident of Delhi and is presently posted at NCC Bn Moradabad (UP). He was Dy Leader of all Girls NCC Cadets Everest Expeditions-2016. The team climbed Mt Everest on 22 May along with 05 Cadets. While climbing down Lt Col Ahlawat felt uneasiness and was brought to Camp 2 with substantial efforts by Sherpas and the team members. The officer was evacuated from Camp 52 to MH Kathmandu on 24th May morning.
