The only prayer made in the petition is for a direction to the Principal
Judge, Family Court, Allahabad to decide the Marriage Petition No. 574
of 2011, within a stipulated time.
A perusal of the record reveals that the petition has been filed by the
petitioner under section 12 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. It is
apparent from the order sheet that the defendant had appeared in the
suit and efforts for conciliation are being made.
Section 21-B of the Hindu Marriage Act specifically provides that all
proceedings under the Act should be held on a day to day basis and
effort should be made to conclude the proceedings as far as possible
within six months from the date of service of the petition on the
respondent.
In view of the aforesaid provisions under the Act, I am of the opinion that
no further direction is required.
The petition is accordingly disposed of.
