Section 258 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) in Hindi and English

258, कूटकृत सरकारी स्टाम्प का विक्रय -

जो कोई किसी स्टाम्प को यह जानते हुए या यह विश्वास करने को कारण रखते हुए बेचेगा या बेचने की प्रस्थापना करेगा कि वह सरकार द्वारा राजस्व के प्रयोजन के लिए प्रचालित किसी स्टाम्प की कूटकृति है, वह दोनों में से किसी भांति के कारावास से, जिसकी अवधि सात वर्ष तक की हो सकेगी, दण्डित किया जाएगा और जुर्माने से भी दण्डनीय होगा।

258. Sale of counterfeit Government stamp –

Whoever, sells, or offers for sale, any stamp which he knows or has reason to believe to be a counterfeit of any stamp issued by Government for the purpose of revenue, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine.
