124. किसी विधिपूर्ण शक्ति का प्रयोग करने के लिए विवश करने या उसका प्रयोग अवरोधित करने के आशय से राष्ट्रपति, राज्यपाल आदि पर हमला करना -

जो कोई भारत के राष्ट्रपति या किसी राज्य के राज्यपाल को ऐसे राष्ट्रपति या राज्यपाल की विधिपूर्ण शक्तियों में से किसी शक्ति का किसी प्रकार प्रयोग करने के लिए या प्रयोग करने से विरत रहने के लिए उत्प्रेरित करने या विवश करने के आशय से,

ऐसे राष्ट्रपति या राज्यपाल पर हमला करेगा या उसका सदोष अवरोध करेगा, या सदोष अवरोध करने का प्रयत्न करेगा या उसे आपराधिक बल द्वारा या आपराधिक बल के प्रदर्शन द्वारा आतंकित करेगा या ऐसे आतंकित करने का प्रयत्न करेगा,

वह दोनों में से किसी भांति के कारावास से, जिसकी अवधि सात वर्ष तक की हो सकेगी, दण्डित किया जाएगा और जुर्माने से भी, दण्डनीय होगा।

124. Assaulting President, Governor, etc., with intent to compel or restrain the exercise of any lawful power -

Whoever, with the intention of inducing or compelling the President of India, or the  Governor of any State, to exercise or refrain from exercising in any manner any of the lawful powers of such President or Governor,

assault or wrongfully restrains, or attempts wrongfully to restrain, or overawes, by means of criminal force or the show of criminal force, or attempts so to overawe, such President or Governor,

shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine.
