115. यानों का उपयोग निर्बंधित करने की शक्ति -- यदि राज्य सरकार का या राज्य सरकार द्वारा इस निमित्त प्राधिकृत किसी प्राधिकारी का समाधान हो जाता है कि सार्वजनिक सुरक्षा या सुविधा की दृष्टि से या किसी सड़क या पुल के स्वरूप के कारण साधारणतया किसी विनिर्दिष्ट क्षेत्र में या किसी विनिर्दिष्ट सड़क पर मोटर यानों या किसी विनिर्दिष्ट वर्ग या वर्णन के मोटर यानों के चलाए जाने या ट्रेलरों के उपयोग को प्रतिषिद्ध या निर्बन्धित करना आवश्यक है तो वह, राजपत्र में अधिसूचना द्वारा, ऐसे अपवादों सहित और ऐसी शर्तों पर, जो अधिसूचना में विनिर्दिष्ट की जाएं, ऐसा कर सकेगा और जब ऐसा कोई प्रतिषेध या निर्बन्धन अधिरोपित किया जाता है तब वह सरकार या प्राधिकारी धारा 116 के अधीन उचित स्थानों पर समुचित यातायात चिह्न रखवाएगा या लगवाएगा :

परन्तु जहां इस धारा के अधीन कोई प्रतिषेध या निर्बन्धन एक मास से अधिक प्रवृत्त नहीं रहना है, वहां राजपत्र में उसकी अधिसूचना आवश्यक नहीं होगी, किन्तु ऐसे प्रतिषेध या निर्बन्धन का ऐसा स्थानीय प्रचार किया जाएगा जैसा परिस्थितियों में संभव हो ।

115. Power to restrict the use of vehicles -- The State Government or any authority authorised in this behalf by the State Government, if satisfied that it is necessary in the interest of public safety or convenience, or because of the nature of any road or bridge, may by notification in the Official Gazette, prohibit or restrict, subject to such exceptions and conditions as may be specified in the notification, the driving of motor vehicles or of any specified class or description of motor vehicles or the use of trailers either generally in a specified area or on a specified road and when any such prohibition or restriction is imposed, shall cause appropriate traffic signs to be placed ar erected under section 116 at suitable places :

Provided that where any prohibition or restriction under this section is to remain in force for not more than one month, notification thereof in the Official Gazette shall not be necessary, but such local publicity as the circumstances may permit, shall be given of such prohibition or restriction.
