2. परिभाषाएं -

इस अधिनियम में -

(क) “विस्फोटक पदार्थ” पद के अन्तर्गत कोई विस्फोटक पदार्थ बनाने के लिए कोई सामग्री, किसी विस्फोटक पदार्थ में या उससे विस्फोट कारित करने या कारित करने में प्रयुक्त या प्रयुक्त किए जाने के लिए आशयित या अनुकूलित या कारित करने में सहायता के लिए कोई साधित्र, मशीन, उपकरण या सामग्री भी तथा ऐसे किसी साधित्र, मशीन या उपकरण का काई भाग भी समझा जाएगा;

(ख) “विशेष प्रवर्ग के विस्फोटक पदार्थ” पद के अन्तर्गत अनुसंधान विकास विस्फोटक (आर० डी० एक्स०), पेंटा एरिश्रीटाल टेट्रा नाइट्रेट (पी० ई० टी० एन ०), उच्च गलन विस्फोटक (एच० एम० एक्स०), ट्रीनाइट्रो टाल्यूइन (टी० एन० टी०), निम्न ताप प्लास्टिक विस्फोटक (एल० टी० पी० ई०) सम्मिश्रण विस्फोटन (सी० ई०) (2, 4, 6 फिनाइल मिथाइल नाइट्रामाइन या टैट्रि), ओ० सी० टी० ओ० एल० (उच्च गलन विस्फोटक और नाइट्रो टाल्यूइन का मिश्रण) प्लास्टिक विस्फोटक किरकी-1 (पी० ई० के०-1) और आर० डी० एक्स ०/ टी० एन० टी० सम्मिश्रण तथा अन्य उसी प्रकार के विस्फोटकों और उनका संयोजन तथा विस्फोट कारित करने वाली सुदूर नियंत्रण युक्तियां और ऐसा कोई अन्य पदार्थ तथा उसका सम्मिश्रण, जिसे केन्द्रीय सरकार, राजपत्र में अधिसूचना द्वारा इस अधिनियम के प्रयोजनों के लिए विनिर्दिष्ट करे, भी समझा जाएगा ।

2. Definition. —

In this Act —

(a) the expression “explosive substance” shall be deemed to include any materials for making any explosive substance; also any apparatus, machine, implement or material used, or intended to be used, or adapted for causing, or aiding in causing, any explosion in or with any explosive substance; also any part of any such apparatus, machine or implement;

(b) the expression “special category explosive substance” shall be deemed to include research development explosive (RDX), Penta erythritol tetra nitrate (PETN), high melting explosive (HMX), tri nitro toluene (TNT), low temperature plastic explosive (LTPE), composition exploding (CE) (2, 4, 6 phenyl methyl nitramine or tetryl), OCTOL (mixture of high melting explosive and tri nitro toluene), plastic explosive kirkee-1 (PEK-1) and RDX/TNT compounds and other similar type of explosives and a combination thereof and remote control devices causing explosion and any other substance and a combination thereof which the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, specify or the purposes of this Act.
