17. “विस्फोटक” की परिभाषा का अन्य विस्फोटक पदार्थों को विस्तार -

केन्द्रीय सरकार समय-समय पर शासकीय राजपत्र में अधिसूचना द्वारा घोषित कर सकेगी कि कोई पदार्थ, जो या तो उसके विस्फोटक तत्त्वों से या उसके विनिर्माण की किसी प्रक्रिया से विस्फोटनीय होने के कारण केन्द्रीय सरकार को जीवन या सम्पत्ति के लिए विशेषतया खतरनाक प्रतीत होता है, इस अधिनियम के अर्थ में विस्फोटक समझा जाएगा; और इन अधिनियमों के उपबंध (ऐसे अपवादों, परिसीमाओं और निर्बन्धनों के अध्यधीन रहते हुए जैसे अधिसूचना में विनिर्दिष्ट किए जाएं) तद्नुकूल उस पदार्थ पर इस प्रकार विस्तारित होंगे मानो वह इस अधिनियम में “विस्फोटक” पद की परिभाषा के अन्तर्गत था ।

17. Extension of definition of “explosive” to other explosive substances. -

The Central Government may, from time to time, by notification in the Official Gazette, declare that any substance which appears to the Central Government to be specially dangerous to life or property, by reason either of its explosive properties or of any process in the manufacture thereof being liable to explosion, shall be deemed to be an explosive within the meaning of this Act; and the provisions of this Act (subject to such exceptions, limitations and restrictions as may be specified in the notification) shall accordingly extend to that substance in like manner as if it were included in the definition of the term “explosive” in this Act.
