अध्याय 29: अपीलें
372. जब तक अन्यथा उपबन्धित न हो किसी अपील का न होना -- दण्ड न्यायालय के किसी निर्णय या आदेश से कोई अपील इस संहिता द्वारा या तत्समय प्रवृत्त किसी अन्य विधि द्वारा जैसा उपबन्धित हो उसके सिवाय न होगी।
परन्तु यह कि न्यायालय द्वारा अभियुक्त को दोषमुक्त करने या न्यूनतर अपराध के लिए दोषसिद्ध करने या अपर्याप्त प्रतिकर अधिरोपित करने वाले आदेश के विरुद्ध पीड़ित को अपील दाखिल करने का अधिकार होगा तथा ऐसी अपील ऐसे न्यायालय में होगी जिसमें ऐसे न्यायालय के दोषसिद्धि के आदेश के विरुद्ध सामान्यत: अपील दाखिल होती है।
CHAPTER XXIX: APPEALS
372. No appeal to lie unless otherwise provided ---- No appeal shall lie from any judgment or order of a Criminal Court except as provided for by this Code or by any other law for the time being in force.
Provided that the victim shall have a right to prefer an appeal against any order passed by the Court acquitting the accused or convicting for a lesser offence or imposing inadequate compensation, and such appeal shall lie to the Court to which an appeal ordinarily lies against the order of conviction of such Court.
