AMRUT TO BE IMPLEMENTED IN 32 CITIES OF MADHYA PRADESH

CABINET DECISIONS

Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) would be implemented in 32 cities of Madhya Pradesh. It was decided by the state cabinet at its meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today. Government of India has decided to share 50 percent of the project costs in cities having over 10 lakh population and 33 in those with less than 10 lakh population under the mission. In the cities having over 10 lakh population 50 percent of the cost should be shared by state government and 17 percent by urban bodies. Similarly, in cities with less than 10 lakh population 40 percent of the cost would be borne by state government and 10 percent by urban civic bodies.
The cabinet granted revised sanction of Rs. 158 crore for construction works in Bundelkhand Medical College, Sagar. These works are being done by Madhya Pradesh Housing and Infrastructure Development Board. The state government has given administrative sanction for developing 653 hectare land of Industrial Area Mohasa (Babai) in Hoshangabad district on Public Private Partnership-Design Build Finance Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis. The project would be implemented by AKVN, Bhopal. The cabinet approved implementation of of Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana in the state.
The cabinet decided to amend the structure of Madhya Pradesh Urban Development Company. Accordingly, Chief Minister would be chairman of the company while Minister for Urban Development and Environment and Chief Secretary would be its vice chairmen. Commissioner, Urban Administration and Development would be MD. Additional Commissioner Urban Administration and Development would be Additional MD of the company. The company would have an empowered committee cum executive committee headed by the Chief Secretary. The cabinet also endorsed the works to be assigned to the committee.
The cabinet sanctioned second time bound promotion to Assistant Veterinary Field Officers of Animal Husbandry Department. The cabinet also decided to allot 5 acre land to National Institute of Mental Health Rehabilitation at Kotara Sultanabad in Bhopal. The cabinet decided to rationalize the octroi compensation grant provided to urban civic bodies.
