UTTAR PRADESH STATE LEGISLATURE (MEMBERS' EMOLUMENTS AND PENSION) (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2015

further to amend the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature (Members' Emolument's and Pension) Act, 1980.
IT IS HEREBY enacted in the Sixty- sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
1. (1) This Act may be called the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature (Members' Emoluments and Pension) (Amendment) Act, 2015.
(2) It shall come into force on April 1, 2015.

2. In section 3 of the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature (Members' Emoluments and.Pension) Act, 1980, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, in sub-section (1) for the words "eight thousand rupees" the words "ten thousand rupees" shall be substituted.
3. In section 4 of the principal Act for the words "twenty two thousand rupees" the words "thirty thousand rupees" shall be substituted.
4. In section 5 of the principal Act—
(a) for sub-section (1) the following sub-section shall be substituted, namely :-
"(1) Subject to the provisions of this Act, every member of the Assembly or the Council, whether or not he holds any office referred to in clause (i) of section 2, shall be provided, in the manner prescribed with railway coupons of such value not exceeding three lakh twenty five thousand rupees per Annum from June 1, 2015 as may be used by such member for 'himself and for the members of his family for travel by any railway in any class at any time within or outside Uttar Pradesh in accordance with such principles as may be prescribed."
(b) in sub-section (2) for the words "sixty thousand rupees" the words "eighty thousand rupees" shall be substituted;

(c) in the first proviso to sub-section (2),—
(i) in clause (a) for the words "coupons of equal value" the words "coupons of equal value or reimburse the fare" shall be substituted;
(ii) in clause (b) for the words "ten thousand rupees" the words "eighteen thousand rupees" shall be substituted.
(i) in clause (a) for the words "coupons of equal value" the words "coupons of equal value or reimburse the fare" shall be substituted;
(ii) in clause (b) for the words "ten thousand rupees" the words "eighteen thousand rupees" shall be substituted.
