UNITED PROVINCES CIVIL JUDGES (DESIGNATION) ACT, 1936

संयुक्त प्रान्त सिविल न्यायाधीश (पदाभिधान) अधिनियम, 1936

-: ACT :-

1. (1) This Act may be called the United Provinces Civil Judges (Designation) Act, 1936.
(2) It extends to the Uttar Pradesh.
(3) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may by notification in the Gazette appoint in this behalf.
2. In sections 3, 4, 6, 10, 11, 13, 18, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 31 and 36 of the Bengal, Agra and Assam Courts Act, 1887, in its application to [Uttar Pradesh]1 for the word “subordinate” the word “civil” shall be substituted.
3. In sections 21, 22, 25, 26, 29, 30, 31, 32, 35, 39, 40 and 44 of the Oudh Courts Act, 1925, for the word “subordinate”, the word “civil” shall be substituted.
4. The Acts specified in the Schedule are hereby amended to the extent and in the manner mentioned in the second column thereof.
5. The office of a Civil Judge shall for all purposes be deemed to be not inferior to that of a Subordinate Judge.
