Karnataka Civil Services Rules

1. Title and Commencement:- (1) These Rules may be called the Karnataka Civil Services Rules.

(2) They shall come into force from the first day of April 1958.

2. Application:- (1) Save as otherwise provided in these Rules, this shall apply to all the persons appointed to Civil Services and serving in connection with the affairs of the State of Karnataka.

(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-rule (1), these Rules shall not apply to -

(i) Persons employed in Industrial Undertakings of the Government;

(ii) Persons in casual employment;

(iii) Persons subject to discharge from service on less than one month’s notice;

(iv) Persons for whose appointment and other matters covered by these Rules, special provisions are made by or under any law for the time being in force, or in any contract in regard to the matters covered by such law or such contracts; and

(v) Members of the All India Services.
