DR.SHAKUNTALA MISRA REHABILITATION UNIVERSITY(FOR DIFFERENTLY ABLED) UTTAR PRADESH ACT, 2009

IT IS HEREBY enacted in the Sixtieth year of the Republic of India as follows:-
1. (1) This Act may be called Dr. Shakuntala Misra Rehabilitation University (For Differently Abled) Uttar Pradesh Act, 2009.
(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on September 19, 2008.
2. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires.-
(a) "Academic Council" means the Academic Council of the University constituted under section 22;
(b) "Executive Council" means the Executive Council of the University constituted under section 14;
(c) "Faculty" means a Faculty of the University;
(d) "General Council" means the General Council of the University constituted under section 9;
(e) "Hostel" means a unit of residence for students maintained or recognized by the University;
(f) "Prescribed" means prescribed by statutes;
(g) " Registrar" means the Registrar of the University appointed under section 30;
(h) "statutes" means the statutes of the University made under section 32;
(i) "Secretary-in-Charge" means the Principal Secretary or the Secretary, as the case may be, of the concerned department of Government of Uttar Pradesh;
(j) "Senior officers of the State" means officers of the Provincial Service of Uttar Pradesh posted in the University by the State Government;
(k) "Teacher" means a teacher employed by the University for imparting education and guiding and conducting research in the University;
(l) "University" means Dr. Shakuntala Misra Rehabilitation University (For Differently Abled) established under section 3;
(m) "Vice Chancellor" means the Vice Chancellor of the University appointed under section 27;
(n) “Visitor" means the Visitor of University referred to in section 7.
