AMENDMENT NOTIFICATION

A Regulations to further amend the Principal Regulations ―Dental Council of India (Establishment of New Dental Colleges, Opening of New or Higher Course of Study or Training and Increase of Admission Capacity in Dental Colleges) Regulations, 2006‖
F. No. DE-22(14)-2019.—In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 20 of the Dentists Act, 1948, the Dental Council of India, in supersession of GOI’s letter No.V.12025/1/1998-DE dated 7.8.2008, with the approval of the Central Government, hereby makes the following Amendments to the existing principal Dental Council of India (Establishment of New Dental Colleges, Opening of New or Higher Course of Study or Training and Increase of Admission Capacity in Dental Colleges) Regulations, 2006, published in Part III, Section 4 of the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, dated 12th January, 2006 namely:–
1. Short title and commencement:–
(1) These Regulations may be called the ―Dental Council of India (Establishment of New Dental Colleges, Opening of New or Higher Course of Study or Training and Increase of Admission Capacity in Dental Colleges) (14th Amendment) Regulations, 2020‖.
(2) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In existing ―Dental Council of India (Establishment of New Dental Colleges, Opening of New or Higher Course of Study or Training and Increase of Admission Capacity in Dental Colleges) Regulations, 2006‖, (herein after referred to as the Principal Regulations), (a) Regulation 7, clause (1), long line 4, the word and figure ―Rs. 3 lakhs in the form of a Demand Draft/Pay Order in favour of Dental Council of India, payable at Delhi‖ is substituted by words ―Rs.9 lakhs plus GST as applicable, by Demand Draft/Pay Order/NEFT/RTGS in favour of Secretary, Dental Council of India, payable at Delhi.‖
3. In the Principal Regulations, (b) Regulation 7, clause (1), at the end of the clause, following proviso is inserted, namely:-
Provided that the Government Dental Colleges shall be exempted from any kind of fee, including fee for application/inspection either for establishment of the college or increase of seats or renewal or recognition or periodic or pre-PG / annual fee.
Provided further that any scheme for establishment of new dental college / introducing new higher course / increase of seats at UG or PG level is once registered and forwarded by the Central Government to Dental Council of India, the fee shall not be refunded in any circumstances.
