THE ASSAM TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1987

Assam Act No. XVIII of 1987

    An Act further to amend the Assam Town and Country Planning Act, 1959.

    Preamble:- Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam Town and Country Planning Act, 1959 (Act II of 1959), hereinafter called the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing ;

    It is hereby enacted in the Thirty-eighth Year of the Republic of India, as follows:-

1. Short title, extent and commencement. - (1) This Act may be called the Assam Town and Country Planning (Amendment) Act, 1987.

(2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act.

(3) It shall come into force at once.

2. Amendment of Section 3:- In the principal Act, in Section 3, in sub-section after claude (xi), the following new clauses shall be inserted, namely :

“(xii) Commissioner, Planning and Development.

(xiii) Commissioner and Special Secretary, Transport.

(xiv) Secretary, Department of Environment.”
