1. Short title and commencement:- (1) This Act may be called the Assam State Legislature (Continuance of the English Language) Act, 1964.

(2) It shall come. into force at once.

2. Continuance of the English language for the transaction of business in the Legislature of the State:-After the expiry of the period of fifteen years from the commencement of the Constitution of India, the English language may from the 26th day of January, 1965, continue to be use for the transaction of business in the Legislature of the State of Assam.
