THE ASSAM DOWN TOWN UNIVERSITY ACT, 2010
ASSAM ACT NO. VIII OF 2010
An Act to establish a Private University under the name and style “The Assam Down Town University” under section 6 of the Assam Private Universities Act, 2007.
Preamble:- Whereas it is expedient to establish a Private University under the name and style “The Assam Down Town University” under section 6 of the Assam Private Universities Act, 2007 and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto
It is hereby enacted in the Sixty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
1. Short title, extent and commencement:- (1) This Act may be called the Assam Down Town University Act, 2010.
(2) It extends to the whole of Assam.
(3) It shall come into force at once.
2. Establishment of the Assam Down Town University:- (1) For furthering the advancement of learning and prosecution of higher education and research, there shall be established a Private University under the name and style “The Assam Down Town University” in the State of Assam.
(2) The details regarding name, location, jurisdiction and infrastructure of the said University are mentioned in the Schedule appended to this Act.
