THE ASSAM CONTINGENCY FUND (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2000
ASSAM ACT NO.IX OF 2000
An Act further to amend the Assam Contingency Fund Act, 1950.
Preamble:- Whereas it is expedient to amend the Assam Contingency Fund Act, 1950, hereinafter called the principal Act.
It is hereby enacted in the Fifty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows :--
1. Short title and Commencement:- (1) This Act may be called the Assam Contingency Fund (Amendment) Act, 2000.
(2) It shall come into force at once and shall remain valid upto 31st March, 2001.
2. Amendment of section 3 of Assam Act IX of 1950:- In the principal Act, in section 3, the following proviso shall be added, namely :--
"Provided that during the period of operation of the Assam Contingency Fund (Amendment) Act, 2000 a further sum of fifty crores of rupees shall be paid from and out of the Consolidated Fund of the State of Assam into the Contingency Fund."
3. Repeal and Savings:- (1) The Assam Contingency Fund (Amendment) Ordinance, 2000 is hereby repealed.
(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the Ordinance so repealed shall be deemed to have been done or taken under this Act as if this Act had commenced on the 11th August, 2000.
